Leflore Co. High paving project expected to be finished this week

Leflore County High School will begin its new year with a freshly paved parking lot and other areas.

County may get aid for homebuyers

More then a dozen Leflore County residents could receive $14,000 in down payment assistance if they qualify to buy a house in connection with the Mississippi Home Corporation.
“I’d like to move forward with this program,” Leflore County District 3 Supervisor Anjuan Brown said during a board meeting Monday.

Greenwood Leflore Hospital: Supervisors authorize seeking lease proposals

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
