Slaying suspect surrenders

A third suspect wanted in the Aug. 16 shooting death of D’Alandis Love turned himself into authorities this morning.

Jacarius Keys, 21, 1304 Roosevelt Ave., Apt. F, has been charged with first-degree murder in Love’s death. He remained in the Leflore County Jail this morning.

The former Bryant Grocery and Meat Market in Money, which was thrown into the national and international spotlight following the murder of Emmett Till 60 years ago this week, remains standing Friday. Repeated efforts to preserve and restore the structure have failed as the property remains in the hands of Juadine Tribble and is not currently for sale.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
