Itta Bena trio held in shootings

Three Itta Bena residemts, including two juveniles, have been arrested in connection with a series of shootings in Itta Bena on Sept. 19.

Jertavious Williams, 17, 320 Mitchell St., was arrested and charged over the weekend with shooting into a dwelling, said Leflore County Sheriff Ricky Banks.

Jury selected for McAdams-Perkins trial

A jury was selected Monday for the trial in the contested 2013 Greenwood mayoral election between incumbent Mayor Carolyn McAdams and challenger Sheriel Perkins.

Oral arguments in the case were scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. today.

McAdams-Perkins trial begins

Oral arguments in the Greenwood mayoral challenge trial between Mayor Carolyn McAdams and Sheriel Perkins began today in Leflore County Circuit Court.

McAdams won the June 4, 2013, election by 206 votes, but Perkins has contested the results.
