Three Itta Bena residemts, including two juveniles, have been arrested in connection with a series of shootings in Itta Bena on Sept. 19.
Jertavious Williams, 17, 320 Mitchell St., was arrested and charged over the weekend with shooting into a dwelling, said Leflore County Sheriff Ricky Banks.
Javarius Jackson, 18, 107 Roosevelt St., and Marvin Warren, 17, 614 Douglas St., were arrested Monday.
Williams and Warren will be charged as adults, the sheriff said. All three remained in the Leflore County Jail this morning.
Banks said a dispute between Williams and the others led to a pair of shootings on Sept. 19. There was “shooting out of a vehicle at Williams and Williams was shooting back,” the sheriff said.
The shooting into the dwelling occurred around 12:15 a.m. The second incident occurred at around 12:25 p.m., Banks said.
No one was wounded in either incident, he said.
The woman whose apartment was fired into signed an affidavit against Williams, the sheriff said. In the case of Jackson and Warren, deputies signed the affidavits themselves, Banks said.
“They may not stick, but we want to stop them from shooting up the town,” he said.
Banks said a fourth suspect is still being sought.
Williams, if convicted, faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
Jackson and Warren, if convicted, face a maximum of 20 years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
