Filming, road closures pushed back a day

A weather delay has pushed back filming of the television show “Women of the Movement” in downtown Greenwood.

Several road closures are expected when production resumes Wednesday.

It was moved back a day because of Tuesday’s wind and rainfall.

County to give anti-litter effort $4,000

Reginald Moore, president of the Leflore County Board of Supervisors, has brought his litter plan to his home turf.

The District 2 supervisor presented the plan, titled Reclamation 21, to his fellow board members during a meeting Monday.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
