Valley ready to celebrate 60 years

Gunman who shot 2 teens dies

The 21-year-old Greenwood man who shot two Greenwood High School students Thursday before turning the gun on himself has died.

Greenwood Police Chief Henry Purnell said the coroner confirmed that Joseph Morrow died at the University of Mississippi Medical Center Jackson at 5:35 p.m. Thursday.

Valley finishes 2nd in challenge

Mississippi Valley State University finished second in the Honda Campus All-Star Challenge this week, reaching the finals for the first time.

More than 250 students from 48 historically black colleges and universities competed in the academic challenge.

Man shoots GHS seniors, then turns weapon on himself

At least one person is dead and two others are injured following a shooting and attempted suicide at the Curtis Moore Apartments this morning.

Greenwood Police Chief Henry Purnell said Joseph Morrow, 21, shot King Roby, 17. Morrow then shot Simone Rush, 18, in the shoulder before turning the gun on himself, the chief said.
