A Mississippi Valley State student has won a $5,000 college scholarship in an essay content.
This is the third year of the "Words of Wisdom: Lessons in Courage" contest, sponsored by Alltel wireless service and world-re-nowned poet Dr. Maya Angelou, has been conducted in honor of Black History Month.
