Pillow Academy’s girls fastpitch softball team ended the week on a high note as the Lady Mustangs picked up a 7-1 win over visiting Marshall Academy Thursday night at Robertson Field.

Former Lady Bulldog Campbell taking over program

Tracey Campbell has come home.
Campbell, a former Greenwood High School girls basketball standout in the mid-1990s and later an assistant coach for the Lady Bulldogs from 2008-2016, accepted a job with the Greenwood Leflore Consolidated School District as a math teacher during the summer.

Just days after announcing the cancellation of the women’s soccer season, the Itta Bena university was named in an NCAA investigation into potential violations of sports betting rules.

Prep Volleyball: Lady Tigers defeat J.Z. George 3-0

Leflore County’s girls volleyball team knocked off J.Z. George High School 3-0 Thursday in North Carrollton.
The Lady Tigers (8-2 overall) won the sets 25-17, 25-20 and 25-15.
J.Z. George falls to 5-6 overall.
Leflore returns to action Tuesday at home against Simmons High School. J.Z. George visits Northside Monday.
