He died 14 years ago on this day, but his legacy is alive and well through The Foundation, which continues to raise money to help the kids and their families at the children’s hospital, which is located in Jackson.

2 accused of tossing cremains in trash during burglary attempt

Two people have been accused of throwing cremated human remains into a garbage can during a burglary attempt.
Shemekia Williams, 37, and Sedrick Roby, 40, were arrested Friday in connection to the incident and charged with burglary and desecration of human remains.
The incident occurred on Feb. 23.

Her daughter, Tyshawna Nellum, 25, a correctional officer at the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman known for her charitable nature, was killed by a drunken driver in 2017.
