Tennis teams take on tournament

The Greenwood Country Club and Twin Rivers Recreation Center played host to the USTA Greenwood Adult Open Doubles Tournament over the weekend, where 44 people from in and around the state competed in fun, yet competitive tennis matches.
Friday’s games were held at GCC and Saturday’s game were played at Twin Rivers.

Valley earns win over Alcorn, 17-13

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
