PA girls place second at state track meet

The Lady Mustangs of Pillow Academy powered through the MAIS Class 5A State track meet on Friday and Saturday at Jackson Prep with three first-place finishes, claiming second place overall with 101.5 points.

CA boys finish fifth, girls claim eighth at state meet

Carroll Academy’s boys achieved 47 total points for fifth place and the girls scored 21 total points for eighth place at the MAIS Class 4A State track meet on Friday and Saturday at Jackson Prep.
Cohen Blaylock was the highest achieving Rebel with a second place finish in the triple jump — 40-10.50.

28 Carroll Academy seniors to graduate Monday

Twenty-eight seniors in the 2023 class of Carroll Academy will graduate on Monday.
A baccalaureate ceremony will be held for the students on Sunday at 5 p.m. in the school gym. The graduation ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. the following day, also in the gym.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
