Pillow’s season ended by Oak Forest

Pillow Academy struggled to slow down Oak Forest Academy’s offense as it produced 549 yards and eight touchdowns, and the Mustangs’ Friday night venture into the first round of the MAIS Class 5A playoffs ended with a 55-23 defeat to the Yellowjackets in Amite, Louisiana, that ends the Mustangs’ season.

Pillow’s ‘second season’ starts in La.

The “second season” is here for Pillow Academy as the Mustangs are set to journey into the MAIS Class 5A playoffs for a first-round battle with Oak Forest Academy in Amite, Louisiana, on Friday.
“We’re excited that we’re on our second season,” Pillow coach Jim Crowder said.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.
