Both Valley hoop squads lose

The Mississippi Valley State University men’s basketball team struggled offensively against Arkansas State Thursday in Jonesboro, Arkansas, falling to the Red Wolves 58-38.
Guard Terry Collins once again led the way for the Delta Devils, scoring a team-high 12 points, and added one steal with three rebounds to his totals.

New gym at Pillow set to open

Pillow Academy is about to unveil its newly renovated gymnasium and basketball court.
The facility, updated with several major improvements, will be showcased for the first time Tuesday when the girls and boys teams host Jackson Prep.
It is the culmination of a project that has been more than two years in the making.

Statesmen face challenge in second round

Delta Devils lose, Devilettes get first win

Mississippi Valley State University’s mens hoops got its first double-double of the year from forward Alvin Stredic Jr. on Wednesday in Colorado Springs, but the Delta Devils weren’t able to surpass the United States Air Force Academy and fell 64-51.
