Board tables request for raises for 3 employees

The Leflore County Board of Supervisors has again balked about giving raises to Leflore County Court employees due to budget concerns.
On Monday, the board voted to table Judge James Littleton’s request for pay raises for three employees, which would total $26,250 including benefits.

Littleton’s request for staff raise denied

Supervisors reappoint Gary as county administrator, comptroller

The Leflore County Board of Supervisors has voted to reappoint Johnny Gary Jr. as the county administrator and comptroller.
In a 4-1 vote Tuesday, the board, with no discussion, voted to extend Gary’s appointment to the additional jobs he has held for the county since his election as chancery clerk in 2019.
