Raymond Keffler — known now as Father Leopold R. Keffler, O.F.M. Conv., Ph.D —– has been in the Delta for three years.
He has served as the priest at Locus Benedictus Ministries for that duration, celebrating Mass most days at its chapel and filling in occasionally on the weekend at other churches.

After moving back to Greenwood following 18 years in Atlanta, author Roishina Henderson says it’s good to be home.
Henderson has self-published four books and is working on her fifth, which is based on the life of her family.

U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Louis “Mac” Nokes received a Purple Heart late last year, almost exactly 17 years after sustaining injuries while fighting in Iraq.
The process wasn’t easy, the Carroll County native recalled.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.
