No murder trial for Stigler this week; too few in jury pool

A murder trial will not go forward this week because a 12-person jury could not be assembled from those who showed up for jury duty.
Tyrell Stigler, 28, was scheduled to go on trial this week in connection with the death of Cordarell Stanley in September 2020.

Not enough in jury pool yet for murder trial

Tyrell Stigler’s trial on a murder charge didn’t start Tuesday as scheduled because not enough people showed up for jury duty.
The Leflore County Circuit Clerk’s Office estimates around 600 jury summonses were mailed out, but on Tuesday morning, attorneys had a pool of only 51 potential jurors to evaluate.
