Greenwood extends mask mandate until at least June 15

A mask mandate will remain in place in Greenwood for the time being.
The City Council voted 6-1 Tuesday to replace the existing mandate, which expired that day, with a new mask mandate that goes into effect 8 a.m. Wednesday and continues until Tuesday, June 15.
Only Ward 2’s Lisa Cookston voted in opposition.

Chicot Irrigation to close Greenwood location

Chicot Irrigation will close its Greenwood location later this year as the company consolidates two of its field offices with a central location in Indianola, says Cory Rowe, president.
The closure of the Greenwood office on Baldwin Road in the Greenwood-Leflore Industrial Park is taking place slowly, Rowe said.

This 1978 Stingray, the 25th anniversary edition of the 1953-born Chevrolet Corvette, was on display at the Cotesworth mansion in Carroll County as part of the 2019 Cruisin’ Cotesworth classic car show. This year’s show will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday on the grounds of Cotesworth, outside North Carrollton.
