The city of Greenwood is working to fix a wastewater pumping station located at the intersection of Claiborne Avenue and Poplar Street. Last month the City Council declared an emergency to get the pumping station fixed after a group of divers had to plug a hole where water leaked from a pipe, and deteriorated tracks prevented the pumping station’s gate from closing. Work at pumping station likely to take at least 2 more weeks

It likely will take at least two weeks before Greenwood’s wastewater pumping station at the intersection of Claiborne Avenue and Poplar Street is fixed, Eddie Curry, the city’s wastewater director, told the City Council Tuesday.
The council declared an emergency last month in order to get the pumping station repaired.
