Humane Society to hold fundraiser

The Leflore County Humane Society will hold a fish fry fundraiser during lunchtime on Thursday.

Catfish plates can be purchased for $10 each from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Elks Lodge, 815 Sgt. John Pittman Drive.

Each plate will include four pieces of fried catfish, french fries, slaw and hushpuppies.

“Love Letters,” a play by A.R. Gurney that features the lifelong correspondence between two childhood friends, opens Thursday evening at the J.M. Whittington Jr. Playhouse.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
