City seeks $200,000 housing grant

The Greenwood City Council has given the go-ahead for applying for a $200,000 grant for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of homes throughout the city.

The Home Investment Partnership Program grant, better known as HOME, has previously been used to help purchase properties for eligible low-income residents in the city.

Grain bin safety training event set for Thursday

Grain bins are an increasing sight on farms in the Delta, and preventing grain bin accidents is the goal behind a safety program sponsored by Farm Bureau.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
