95 seniors set to graduate from Elzy High on Wednesday

Amanda Elzy High School will graduate 95 seniors at its commencement exercise Wednesday.

The ceremony will take place at the Leflore County Civic Center at 1:30 p.m.

Mariah Fonzika Monetta Capler has been named class valedictorian. Candace Jeneane Wright is the salutatorian.

State plans US 82 upgrade

The Mississippi Department of Transportation has announced plans for the milling and overlaying of certain sections of U.S. 82 in Carroll and Leflore counties.

“We continually work to upgrade our system and provide safety improvements for the traveling public,” said Transportation Commissioner Mike Tagert in prepared remarks.

69 to graduate from Leflore County High

Leflore County High School will graduate 69 seniors at its commencement exercise Wednesday.

The ceremony will take place at the Leflore County Civic Center at 10:30 a.m.

Latoya Holston has been named the class valedictorian. Najja Collins is the salutatorian.

Holston had a final average of 94.83, and Collins 94.69.
