Museum is a hit

CLEVELAND, Mississippi — Mississippi’s musical heritage was front and center Saturday at the opening of Grammy Museum Mississippi.

The event drew a large crowd for a ribbon-cutting and tour of the museum, which is the only Grammy Museum outside Los Angeles.

Miss. Grammy museum to open Saturday

CLEVELAND, Mississippi — Allan Hammons has been busy getting ready for Saturday’s opening of the Grammy Museum Mississippi.

The museum, located at 800 West Sunflower Road, is on the campus of Delta State University. It will be open to the public beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday with a ribbon-cutting.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
