Soon, the store will relocate to 201 Howard St. and will have a new name: Delta Boutique & Gifts.

Man not satisfied with police response to alleged theft

A Greenwood man says two men stole $700 from him Wednesday night and claims the Greenwood Police Department is dragging its feet in apprehending the suspects.

Police Chief Ray Moore said that the man, Mark Lamar Bowie, is demanding that the police violate the law in order to get his money back.

Interfaith Seder meal coming up Tuesday

An interfaith Seder supper, scheduled for Tuesday night, is intended to bring Christians and Jews together.

The program, a partnership between the Episcopal Church of the Nativity and Ahavath Rayim Synagogue, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in Nativity’s parish hall.

To do that work well takes skilled reporters and editors, as many as a community can support through advertising, subscriptions and philanthropy.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
