Radio show will broadcast from North New Summit Thursday

The broadcast of “The Gallo Radio Show” will be aired locally on SuperTalk Delta 96.9 FM from 6 to 9 a.m.

Greenwood and Leflore County had to deal with heavy rainfall Monday as a storm system moved through the area.

Susan Bailey, director of the Greenwood Public Works Department, said the city experienced more than an inch of rainfall within 30 to 45 minutes late Monday afternoon.

Man faces kidnap, robbery charges

A Greenwood man has been charged with kidnapping two women and committing armed robbery.

Charles Anthony Johnson, 26, 1208 Early St., remained in the Leflore County Jail this morning. He was awaiting transfer to the Mississippi Department of Corrections for a parole or probation violation.
