Two Leflore County election officials said Tuesday that they do not think the removal of printers from the county voting machines will make the devices vulnerable to tampering.

Mayor Carolyn McAdams said today she is “not shocked at all” by the Greenwood School Board’s decision Monday to fire Superintendent Montrell Greene.

The board voted at a special called meeting to remove Greene, effective immediately, and selected Charles Brooks, a retired former educator in the district, as the interim replacement.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
