The threat of withholding car tags has improved the collection rate on county garbage fees, Chancery Clerk Sam Abraham says.
Abraham reported to the Board of Supervisors recently that 75 to 80 percent of residents had paid their solid-waste bills.
That rate is much better than usual, he said.
