A suspect has been arrested in connection with a stabbing and robbery that occurred early Wednesday morning.
Roy Lee Lumpkin, 34, of 404 State St., Apt. 3, was arrested Thursday and charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault.
Walter Christopher Erve was stabbed outside his home at 507 Ave. E, and an undetermined amount of cash was taken, said Police Sgt. Lee Taylor.
Police are still investigating the incident and don't know what prior connection the two men might have had, Taylor said.
He also could not say whether the cash was taken off Erve or from his home.
Erve, who suffered injuries to his head and neck, called a friend for help, and the police were called soon after.
He was in stable condition this morning at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.
