Shooting victim in critical condition

A Greenwood man was in critical but stable condition in a Jackson hospital this morning after being shot Saturday night in front of his home.

Lamarques Rhodes was found in front of his home at 1207 Cotton St. at about 10 p.m. with a gunshot wound to his head, said Police Sgt. Lee Taylor.

Wolfe files suit against county

Leflore County Supervisor Phil Wolfe is taking the county to court for not continuing to pay for his legal representation in an earlier lawsuit.

Wolfe, who represents District 1, filed his latest lawsuit Wednesday in Chancery Court. He is represented by attorney Tom Calhoun.
