Constable arrested on cocaine charge

A Leflore County constable has been charged with cocaine possession.

Jeff Dunn, 38, was arrested by the Leflore County Sheriff's Department and released on bond.

He is serving his second term as Northern District constable. Responsibilities include delivering documents such as garnishments, summonses and eviction notices.

Board approves proposed Dickerson building lease

The Greenwood School Board approved a lease proposal on Tuesday in which the former site of Dickerson Elementary School would be used as a Head Start facility.

Mississippi Action for Progress (MAP), which operates Head Start programs, has been negotiating with the school district on the lease. MAP's board has not voted on it yet.
