A former adjunct professor and grant writer for Delta State University’s College of Business and a graduate of that Master of Business Adminstration program, Brinkley is now pacersonnel director at the Greenwood Public School District.

Valley to host 22nd piano competition

This year marks the 22nd time Dr. Lawrence Goldman has directed the festival that brings young pianists from around the state and the region to the keyboards at Valley.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
