Carroll County added to mask mandate list

Gov. Tate Reeves has added Carroll and six more counties to his mask-wearing mandate in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last week, Reeves enacted the mandate for nine counties. He announced the addition of seven more — Carroll, Harrison, Madison, Marshall, Jones, Leake and Benton — at a Monday press conference.

Viking CFO inducted into Delta State’s Alumni Hall of Fame

Jane Moss, chief financial officer at Viking Range, was inducted into Delta State University’s Alumni Hall of Fame at the company’s headquarters on Tuesday.

“I was completely blown away,” Moss said. “When they called a month ago, I was shocked, just completely honored.”

Lights may go out in Itta Bena

The town’s wholesale electricity provider has informed a Mississippi regulator that it will be cutting off service to the municipally owned utility because of its chronic failure to pay its bill in full.
