Road manager: Need to address beaver dams

As the heavy rain season approaches, county officials are trying to get ahead of flooding due to beaver dams.

At Monday night’s Leflore County Board of Supervisors meeting, Jerry Smith, the county road manager, spoke about the search for and destruction of beaver dams throughout the area.

Vaiden nursing home staff, residents to receive vaccine

The Vaiden Community Living Center says it is in the countdown phase of receiving COVID-19 vaccinations for its residents.

According to a release from the nursing home, it will hold its first COVID-19 vaccine clinic for residents and staff on Wednesday, Jan. 6.
