Hospital lifts mask mandate; temperature checks also no longer required

Greenwood Leflore Hospital is lifting its mandate on masks and temperature checks.
Starting Wednesday, masks will be optional for employees, patients and visitors to the hospital, and no longer will those who enter the hospital have to be screened for fever.

GLH to shut off water a few hours Friday

For an anticipated seven hours on Friday, Greenwood Leflore Hospital will have to shut off its water in order to repair a main line that has burst.
The hospital plans to turn the water off at 5 a.m. and hopes to have it restored by noon.

House Speaker Philip Gunn and his lieutenants certainly give credence to that allegation.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.
