Shopping center to host carnival

The carnival is coming to Greenwood, kicking off at 5 today.

North American Midway Entertainment (Farrow Shows) was setting up at the Highland Park plaza parking lot on Tuesday afternoon.

Pat Repp, the general manager of the show said they were ready to entertain.

Board, center make deal

The Leflore County Board of Supervisors voted Monday to give an exemption to the Greenwood Restitution Center for solid waste services.

Supervisors also agreed to allow the center to work off a bill dating back to July 2008 with in-kind labor.

City to hold final hearing on plan

The city of Greenwood will host a final public hearing Thursday on its 30-year comprehensive plan.

Thomas Gregory, city administrator, said he has seen a draft of the plan and is optimistic about its success. He encouraged residents to attend.
