Supervisors grill election chief

Screenings to target heart problems

Greenwood Leflore Hospital will host a series of screenings next month to alert people to potential heart problems.

SafeHeart Health Screens, a Mississippi-based company, will offer five health screens on June 28 for $129. The service will be free for Medicaid patients.

Screenings will be done from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Living Diet manager promoting good health

Jeff Brown, manager of the Living Diet, a new Greenwood nonprofit health food store, says he is just doing his part to improve the health of the Delta.

“We as a community need to start changing the way we eat,” Brown said. “We really want people to be able to see the benefits of this.”
