Flowers trial: Jury likely to be seated today

After days of questioning, Circuit Judge Joseph Loper said Wednesday he expects a jury to be seated today for the sixth murder trial of Curtis Giovanni Flowers.

Loper told the remaining 60 potential jurors to be packed and prepared to be sequestered in the event they were selected.

WINONA — The sixth murder trial of Curtis Giovanni Flowers should focus on guilt or innocence and not race, Judge Joseph Loper said Tuesday.

Flowers is charged with a 1996 quadruple homicide at Tardy Furniture store in Winona. Jury selection continued today. About 70 potential jurors were left as of Tuesday.
