PARCHMAN — Escaped state inmate John B. Compton was still at large this morning, said the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department.
Compton, 42, a minimum-custody offender, escaped around noon Monday from the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman while on a work detail on the grounds of the prison’s farming operation.
