President Barack Obama will honor Greenwood High School’s Birdette Hughey and other state Teachers of the Year Tuesday at the White House.
Hughey, a Texas native who left the corporate world to teach algebra through Teach for America, was the 2011 Mississippi Teacher of the Year in only her second year in the classroom.
