Leflore County's unemployment rate jumped in March to 13.5 percent, according to figures released Tuesday by the Mississippi Employment Security Commission.
The county's jobless rate was not only higher than February's 12.3 percent, but it was the worst showing for March since 1991, when the jobless rate was 17.5 percent.
