Board postpones decision on road project, renews Mallory lease

VAIDEN — The Carroll County Board of Supervisors took care of a number of maintenance issues at Monday’s meeting.

The board looked at bids to re-seal County Road 211, but took them under advisement as was suggested by County Engineer Robert Willis until federal participation is assured.

Carrollton, N. Carrollton post offices to merge?

NORTH CARROLLTON — The U.S. Postal Service has announced it is doing a feasibility study to determine whether the North Carrollton Post Office should become a branch of the Carrollton Post Office.

Since Carrollton and North Carrollton are two separate municipalities, the towns have had their own full-time post offices.

CARROLLTON — An alert Carroll County resident photographed a burglar’s car with his cell phone after being awakened by the intruder, leading to an arrest.

Lorenzo Antwan Hill, 26, of Greenwood, remained at the Vaiden jail Friday, charged with burglaries of two residences on County Road 158 in the Gravel Hill community.
