County urgently needs personnel policy, Herbert says

VAIDEN — Lack of a personnel policy is causing difficulties in the county, Beat 1 Supervisor Terry Herbert told fellow board members Monday.

Herbert said the board needs to create a policy before a new year begins, either in October or in January, for the sake of accountability. He said that it was “past time” to do this.

J.Z. George seniors to graduate Saturday

NORTH CARROLLTON — When valedictorian Tiffany Hobbs takes the stage Saturday morning to speak to J.Z. George High School’s 62 other seniors, she will tell them, “Don’t stop. Be somebody successful. Keep on going.”

George will hold its ceremony at the Leflore County Civic Center at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Family searching for answers

And they hope people will continue to help look for her, despite accusations of possible wrongdoing in her bookkeeping.
