Extension Service offers soil analysis for gardeners

The Mississippi State University Extension Service offers a simple and economical service for homeowners looking to get the most out of their yards and gardens: soil analysis.

A routine analysis costs $6 and takes about a week and a half to complete. The process is simple, says local Extension Service director Andy Braswell.

Board ponders possible school merger

The Leflore County Board of Supervisors discussed the possible legislative consolidation of the Leflore County and Greenwood school districts Monday.

The state House Education Committee approved a bill last Thursday to merge the two districts. House Bill 987 will now go before the full House for consideration.
