Future of hospital discussed

The Greenwood Leflore Hospital Board, Leflore County Board of Supervisors and Greenwood City Council put their heads together this morning to begin debating the merits of the potential sale of the hospital.

City and county officials recently voted to determine the hospital’s value.

State plans to smooth bypass bump

Jolted drivers may finally get some relief from an infamous bump atop the U.S. 82/49 bypass.

The state plans to build up to the spot using about 120 yards of asphalt as soon as hot-mix plants reopen in the next couple of weeks, according to Northern District Transportation Commissioner Mike Tagert.
