Rural post offices might have to cut hours

Hours could be reduced at about a dozen rural post offices in the Greenwood area under a proposal by the U.S. Postal Service.

They would go from being open eight hours per day to six, four or two.

Deal would give family control of 4 area network TV affiliates

One family could soon own all four network TV affiliates in the Greenwood and Greenville market.

WXVT-Channel 15, a CBS affiliate, is in the process of being sold for $2.65 million by Saga Broadcasting to a company controlled by Charles Harker’s three children.

Shooting suspect on house arrest

The surviving alleged assassin in the shootout at Greenwood attorney Lee Abraham’s office offered a “shout out” on Facebook after being released on house arrest Wednesday.

“Shout out too god im triple bless thanks err body who prayed for a nigga im good,” Derrick Lacy wrote.
