Cop accused of asking teen for sex

A Greenwood police sergeant accused of soliciting a 14-year-old girl for oral sex while off-duty turned himself in Wednesday to the Leflore County Sheriff’s Department.

Robert Lewis, 50, 144 County Road 260, Carrollton, was charged with enticement of a child for a lustful purpose and released on $10,000 bond.

No school budget cuts planned, Pulley says

There are no immediate plans for any budget cuts for public schools, Greenwood Superintendent Margie Pulley told the school board Tuesday.

Pulley and other school officials met with State Superintendent Tom Burnham at a meeting at Delta State University last week and again Tuesday in Jackson.
