Exchange club sports tee off Monday night

The Greenwood Exchange Club will get its 2025 season going at Stribling Park beginning Monday night, according to league president Justin Blaylock.
Instead of doing an opening-weekend tournament as in years past, girls softball, T-ball and baseball will play in their respective tournaments Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

J.Z. George High School’s baseball team picked up its first wins of the season as it swept Amanda Elzy 10-6 and 11-2 Thursday in North Carrollton.
Kaleb Mulvihill and Hayden Brown were the winning pitchers for the Jaguars. No other details were available for J.Z. George (2-13 overall).

Prep Roundup: Lady Bulldogs pull away from Holmes

The Greenwood High School girls fast-pitch softball team improved to 8-4 overall with a 20-1 win over Holmes County Central Thursday at Whittington Park.
Neither team had a hit in the game, but the Lady Bulldogs took advantage of 13 walks and 12 hit by pitches.
