Joseph Warren will be the first to admit that he’s in the beginning stages of his football career.
The Greenwood High School senior is penciled in as the starting right tackle for the Bulldogs, who kick off their 2023 season Aug. 26 against Gentry High School at Bulldog Stadium.

Carroll, Delta Streets drop opening games

Carroll Academy knew it was going to be a huge challenge to knock off Canton Academy, the defending MAIS State 3A champions.
The host Panthers claimed a 35-0 victory over the Rebels Friday night in Canton.
Canton held a 20-0 lead at the half and tacked on two more scores in the third period.

To do that work well takes skilled reporters and editors, as many as a community can support through advertising, subscriptions and philanthropy.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
