Prep Roundup: Lady Mustangs knock off Washington in soccer

The Pillow Academy girls soccer team upped its record to 4-1 with a 7-1 win over Washington School Tuesday in Greenville.
The Lady Mustangs got two goals each from Riley Coleman, Addison Weems and Skylar Phillips. Weems and Alanna Hodo, who had one goal, had one assist each.

PA, JZG claim volleyball wins

The Pillow Academy girls volleyball team moved to 5-2 with a 3-0 victory over Mount Zion Christian Academy Monday in Magee.
The Lady Mustangs won the sets 26-24, 25-20 and 25-10.
The JV team won its match 2-0. Set scores were 25-9 and 25-5. The middle school team picked up a 2-0 as it won the sets 25-16 and 25-8.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
