The Leflore County and Amanda Elzy girls volleyball teams both captured wins on the court Tuesday.
The Lady Tigers pulled off a 3-0 sweep of Region 3-2A foe Northside High School in Shelby. Leflore (6-2 overall, 2-1 in district) took the sets 25-9, 25-16 and 25-14.

Prep Roundup: PA girls soccer team keeps streak alive

The Pillow Academy girls soccer team is beginning to shape itself for another run at a state championship.
The Lady Mustangs won their fifth straight game Monday as they defeated visiting Magnolia Heights 9-0 in a Division II West contest at Chazzy Moor Field.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
