Lady Mustangs off to 2-0 start

Pillow Academy’s girls basketball team pulled away in the second half for a 59-33 win over Lamar School Thursday at the Columbus Christian Academy preseason tournament.
The Lady Mustangs (2-0) only led 11-10 after the first period and 24-18 at the half, but outscored Lamar 13-8 in the third and 22-7 in the final quarter.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
